This Safe Place Is

The ADHD Parent's Circle.

Dear Friend,

Registration is open for the next session of  The ADHD Parent's Circle!

This group is for parents who want to learn and share creative ways of raising a child with ADHD...no matter what your kids age.....toddlers through young adults!

This is the group for you if you're looking

  • To connect with other parents who get what you're going through every day.
  • To feel supported and not judged!
  • To share with and learn from others about what works and what doesn't.
  • To stop blindly trying things and get some personal recommendations on programs, medications, practitioners, and other resources to use so you can stop spinning your wheels.
  • To truly understand what ADHD is and how it's showing up for your family.

This group offers you the space to take what you've learned and apply it to your life! It's hard to do that from a book.

We meet once a month for 2 hours beginning in September and ending in May.

Everything shared in the group is confidential and participants are required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

For a one-time payment of $360 you get a 9 month program/18 hours of learning and support-and life-changing connections with other parents who get what you're going through.

When you break it down, it's less than we spend on tutors, therapy, or sports activities.

Here's what a few parents have said about being part of this group:

Here's what a few parents have said about being part of this group:

"I've learned so many new things since being in this group and I don't feel alone anymore. Now that I understand more about ADHD and executive functions I see my daughter as less difficult and not naughty. I have more understanding and compassion for her." ~Erin LaPointe

"It has been so valuable to have access to an ADHD expert like Carlene. She and other group members offer real solutions and action items that have improved our home life. Everything I've learned is helping me to adjust my expectations that I place on my children." ~Jennifer Stahl

"One A-ha moment for me was learning that kids with ADHD can be 3-5 years behind their peers developmentally. This is has helped me understand why my son's social behavior seems immature. I now know this is "normal" for him and he will catch up. Most importantly, I've learned we all have similar experiences and it helps me to realize there is not something "wrong" with my son." ~Samirah

"I learned so much from Carlene and from the other women in the group. Everyone contributed in some way from their personal struggles and discoveries. I loved the open discussion and support. I felt empowered when I changed my sons morning routine and we now experience more calm and less chaos to start our days." ~Tyra Hawkins

"It is so nice to be with other women who struggle with the same issues. I'm not alone. I have more clarity on ADHD and that it is a neuro-biological condition that can be managed. I have more compassion for my son." ~Kari Kuhn

Group Women Walking

I'm inviting you to join this group of inspired parents like yourself...

Here's just a taste of what you'll learn when you enroll:

The ADHD Parent's Circle
Taking Charge Of ADHD Together!

Each meeting is broken down into two parts:

Part 1: Open Q&A, Sharing and Caring:

The first hour is open for you to bring your questions/concerns to the group. Not only will I weigh-in on your question but other group members will too. We learn so much from each other's experiences.

Part 2: Topic of the Month

During the second hour I will provide training and education on the "topic of the month".

Everyone has a chance to weigh-in on the topics that are top of mind for them. This is your group and we will focus on what's important for you as a group!

Here is a sample list of topics of the month.

  • ADHD Fundamentals - What the heck is this, really? Where does it come from? Why didn't we know about this when we were growing up? Will it ever go away? What are the dangers of not treating ADHD?
  • The most common co-existing conditions of ADHD including anxiety, depression, OCD, learning disabilities, addiction and more.
  • ADHD and Hormones - Hormones can make ADHD symptoms more intense and at one point in our lives our hormones actually can make our ADHD better! And for those of us who don't have ADHD, our hormones can make us feel like we "all of the sudden" have ADHD....but we don't. How to know the difference and what you can do about it.
  • To Tell or Not to Tell. How to deal with extended family and ADHD. Learn effective ways to communicate with family and friends who just don't get it.
  • ADHD Denial. How do you support a grown child, who has ADHD who refuses to acknowledge it or do anything about it?
  • Maintaining healthy relationships with ADHD be it a spouse, a sibling, a friend, parent, or a child by using a coach approach to foster trust and strengthen relationships.
  • Managing emotions and impulses related to ADHD.
  • Silencing the negative chatter of ADHD and how you can foster a positive environment.
  • How to coach yourself or someone else through anxious situations.
  • Executive Functions. What are they and why are they not 'functioning"? Zero in on each of the executive functions and learn strategies to boost productivity and confidence.

In Short, The ADHD Parent's Circle Gives You a Community of Parents Who Don't Judge You, but Instead Support You and Help You Manage ADHD for Your Family.

Now, you may be wondering how does this all work.

I want you to know it's my mission to make this group accessible to as many parents as possible. You don't need one more commitment on your calendar. Once you join us, you will experience it's benefits and look forward to the next meeting and the next....

Are you ready, or do you still have a few questions?

I've included some of the questions I hear most frequently, and my answers, to help you decide whether The ADHD Parent's Circle is a good fit for you.

Q: I'm afraid I won't have the time to go through this program. How can I justify the time investment?

A: I understand! Because I know how busy life can be. If learning how to manage ADHD for your family better is important to you, it's my belief that this time investment will pay off when you discover skills for making your life what you want it to be … you'll find that you know how to make time for the things you love most!

Q: I'm nervous about speaking and sharing in a group. Do I have to talk?

A: I understand we all have different comfort levels among other people. I will never put you on the spot. I will encourage you to participate how it feels best for you. If you can reap the benefits of the group by listening and taking it all in, that is perfectly ok! Most parents who have this concern, learn quickly that this group is a safe place and start sharing when they feel ready.

Q: I'm worried about what I share staying private and confidential within in the group.

A: That is a common concern. Everything shared in the group is confidential and participants are required to sign a confidentiality agreement. You should know, we have never had any issues with group members sharing private information.
